We love to throw a get-together, and having Ducati Monster 1200 and 1200S demos is a great reason to put the tent up and have everybody over to the shop. That’s exactly what we did last Saturday and it was a success by any measure. But most of all, it was great because you, our friends here in the Chicago moto community, came out to show your Ducati pride and check out the latest in their proud line of Monsters.
So how was the bike? Well when you take a 1200cc thoroughbred Italian v-twin and more-or-less bolt a pair of wheels to it, you’re going to have fun no doubt. Yet what I heard most consistently from folks who came through and rode the Monster 1200 was just how rideable it was. Anyone with good sense will recognize that this is a lot of bike, and will respect that with great power, comes great potential. Yet the Monster 1200 has managed to make all that power and capability accessible to mere mortals.
