The adventures
In the summer of 2014, Motoworks Chicago partnered with Triumph Motorcycles, and ICON’s Raiden brand to campaign a pair of Triumph Tiger 800XC’s in a pair of grueling off road race events. The first was the NORRA Mexican 1000, a grueling 1200 mile timed run from Ensenada to Cabo San Lucas. The second was the Alcan 5000, a 4700 mile run from Seattle to Anchorage Alaska, taking the long way. Combined, these races were the adventure of a lifetime for all involved and we couldn’t be more excited for the big screen debut of these two short films, titled Lords of the Atlas.

The filmmakers
The team behind Icon’s viral YouTube hit, Portland To Dakar, were along for these two adventures as both competitors and filmmakers. Professional stunt rider Ernie Vigil piloted the yellow Triumph Tiger 800XC for Team Motoworks/Raiden for both the Mexican 1000 and the Alcan 5000, while Motoworks Chicago founder Johnny Scheff rode the white Triumph Tiger 800XC for the Alcan 5000. With the Icon film crew along for both journeys, each of these two films captures the spirit of adventure these grassroots events embody as well as the sheer capability of their Triumph adventure motorcycles.
